I was given the opportunity to travel to Montana for a class trip in August 2021. We worked with the U.S. Forest Service rangers to create interpretive signage near a campground in Lolo National Forest. The surrounding area was heavily affected by a wildfire in 2015 which drove the direction of the signage.
My group consisted of four graphic design juniors. For our sign, we chose to focus on fire ecology. I assisted with researching, writing content, and working on the sign layout and the topographic texture near the top. It was a great experience getting to work with my group and the U.S. Forest Service rangers to create something that can be appreciated for many years to come.
