Wander in Wild is a photography coffee table book featuring my personal photos of the natural landscape and wildlife across the United States. For this book, it was important to place emphasis on the photos. With this in mind, I chose to use a simple color palette, consistent layouts, and a minimalistic style. An additional feature I wanted to include was camera and image information to appeal to hobby photographers.
I began taking pictures when I was 10 years old and received my first camera. For this project, I chose to pull photos I have taken from my most recent images to my first photographs. I edited all photos in Lightroom and brought some into Photoshop as well.
As a photographer, I haven’t had the opportunity to camp out in a single area and wait for the perfect lighting conditions. While I may plan to go to a certain spot around sunset or during a specific season, I typically haven’t had the time or choice to stay in a location for a prolonged period of time and plan out compositions. All of this led me to Wander in Wild. It’s the best way to describe my photography process over the years and the subjects I chase.
